Bahamas Hurricane Relief Fund

If you’re like me, you see a clear need like there is in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian and want to help, but never know what the best option is for sending the much-needed funds. This organization and that organization give only a fraction of the donated funds to the areas of need. Fraudulent organizations sadly abound during times of need. So, what to do?

An organization was brought to my attention by my awesome sister. This organization, Giving4Hope sends 100% of their donations directly to the place of need via a group of volunteer airline pilots and flight attendants. These amazing folks donate their talents and resources to literally fly your donations directly to the source of need. I know this because my sister has been a part of their efforts for years. Now they are directing their resources to the Bahamas in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. I’ll let my sister Janet explain in her own words about the organization, and hope that you will help:

Dear potential donors,

My name is Janet Lamy. I have had the honor to work with the program Giving4Hope for a few years now. It is a group of flight attendants and pilots that work to help in people’s time of need. It is a 100% donation, no money is used to pay anyone in the organization. Everyone is a volunteer. I was blessed with the opportunity to go to Africa with them last May for their 10th trip to two orphanages that they support in Johannesburg. The organization also put together several trips to Puerto Rico to bring necessary goods after they were devastated by the hurricane.

We are now raising money to support our help mission to the Bahamas. Sunday morning we sent our first fully loaded plane to Treasure Cay in the Bahamas captained by two of our fellow airline employees, one of which is a Bahamian native. We plan to do as many trips with goods as we can but need funds to keep flying. I ask for any and all donations you could possibly give to help fund our mission! Since completing our first trip we have connections on the ground in Treasure Cay and Green Turtle Cay who are advising us as to their specific material needs. They are already beginning to rebuild and have some use of restaurant kitchens to feed large groups.

We need money to purchase the materials they need to rebuild, clean, sanitize, provide power tools and fuel cooking needs. Our pilots are planning on at least three trips this week and hope to continue our efforts throughout the entire rebuilding process. Any donations can be made at www.Giving4Hope.org through PayPal or credit card. There is an add comments area that if you specifically want to make sure your donation is strictly used for the Bahamas you may do so there.

All donations are 100% used for charity and at this time all funds are being used to focus on our Bahamas recovery effort. Thank you for your time and I hope you will consider donating.

Thank you sincerely,

Janet Lamy
